How to Use These Studies

There is no required timetable. Move slowly enough to listen, ask questions, and allow truth to take root.

The posture

An invitation—not a test.

The Freedom Studies are not a checklist, conversion timetable, or test of spiritual readiness. They are invitations to open Scripture, ask honest questions, and seek Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit. These studies are guides, not authorities.

You may use them alone, with a trusted friend, or in a small group. You can follow the suggested order or begin with the subject that speaks most clearly to your present need. The sequence is a map, not a locked path.

A gentle rhythm for every study

Pray. Read. Notice. Respond.

    Begin with prayer

    “Holy Spirit, lead me into truth and help me see Jesus clearly.”

    Read Scripture in context

    Read the complete passage. Notice who is speaking, who is listening, and what is happening around the words.

    Observe before concluding

    What do you notice? What does this reveal about God or Jesus?

  4. 04
    Bring honest questions

    What questions, concerns, or memories does the passage raise for you?

  5. 05
    Listen for the Spirit

    What might the Holy Spirit be showing you personally through the written Word?

    Respond freely

    Is there a response of faith God may be inviting you to make? Do not manufacture one.

    Close with prayer

    Thank God for what you saw and ask Him to continue guiding you.

Word and Spirit together

Spirit-led does not mean Scripture-less.

The aim is not spirituality without boundaries. The Holy Spirit inspired Scripture, illuminates its truth, and leads us toward Jesus. Personal impressions should be held humbly and considered in the light of Scripture and the character of Christ.

For facilitators

Make room for the Holy Spirit.

  • Listen more than you speak.
  • Allow disagreement, uncertainty, and silence without treating them as rebellion.
  • Do not use questions as tests with hidden correct answers.
  • Do not answer for another person or pressure them toward your timetable.
  • Keep Scripture in context and continually direct attention to Jesus.
  • Be honest about what the passage states clearly and what remains an interpretation.
  • When trauma or abuse is disclosed, prioritize safety and encourage appropriate professional support.

Their purpose is not to condemn churches or leaders, but to help people distinguish biblical discipleship from fear, pressure, and human control—and to rediscover the grace, truth, and freedom found in Jesus.
